The Van Millingen Number is a unique rating set up by the company founder Mr Van Millingen many years ago to establish the complexity of rotating equipment. The speed (n) in rpm multiplied by the square root of the Power (P) in kW give the number.
As you can see from the below chart engineers are able to establish the level of difficulty of the project. Many would consider anything over 1,000,000 N√P to be highly challenging but Torquemeters have made measuring and coupling systems to run up to 4 million N√P and we are always looking for the next challenge.
