Reporting to: Finance Manager

The role

As Management Accountant you will be an integral part of a small team and work within a busy finance & administration office. You will have responsibility for the primary accounting functions of the Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger and Cashbooks, together with Nominal Ledger activity and VAT analysis.

  • Job reconciliations to gross profit level
  • Handle month-end transactions to assist in generating monthly financial accounts
  • Prepare monthly nominal ledger account reconciliations
  • Maintain Fixed Asset Register
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns for submission
  • Maintenance and administration of credit card statements and related expense claims; together with Petty Cash
  • Assist with month-end and year-end procedures and reports
  • Process payroll when required
  • Ad hoc financial and administrative tasks

Key Skill Requirements


  • AAT/ACCA/CIMA qualified or part-qualified
  • Relevant experience working within a finance environment
  • Work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good communication and influencing skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • A multi-tasker


  • Manufacturing background
  • Some experience in preparation of balance sheet accounts
  • Experience using EXEL EFACS

Core hours of work are 37 per week based on Monday to Thursday 08:30 – 17:15 with ½ hour lunch break, and Fridays 08:30 – 12:30.

Five weeks paid annual leave plus statutory Bank Holidays.

Torquemeters premises are situated in a rural location not served by public transport and therefore your own transport will be required.
